Dear Senator:
There is a Bill (H. R. 4971) being considered by the Senate, which provides for the elimination of price in the advertising of liquor [liquor is circled in document]. It has the endorsement of many civic groups in this city, as well as the support of almost the entire industry. It has been UNANIMOUSLY approved by a Sub-Committee of the House District Committee, by the Full House District Committee, and by the House itself.
I am taking the liberty of addressing you, Sir, because it has just come to my attention that your home State has such a regulation, and feeling that you might be motivated by the action of the people of your State to interest yourself in our local problem, I am asking you to -- if you will -- take our point of view, as well as that of your own State, and urge the passage of this Bill.
